A footnote to I Peter 3:7 is rendered “And if she be not obedient and healpeful unto him, endevoureth to beat the fear of God into her head, that thereby she may be compelled to learn her duty and do it.”

Possible Application

NONE!  There’s an awful lot of so-called Christian men who would use this sort of nonsense.

    Some men would also want to push this verse : Ephesians 5:22-33 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. Those same men forget to take into account this verse: Ephesians 5:22-25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

    I was once a young Christian man and though I had things straight , today I’m not so young now and I could wish I knew then want I know now , but wesomethings learn by our mistakes. What am I saying … young and old Christian think they have God’s word straight but all to often they don’t.

    But for me theses 2 verses say ,… Christ put the church first and went to the cross , so husbands put your wife first before yourself.
