Max on Life
This book is presented as Max answering “Today’s Questions” with Biblical and inspiring answers.
Max is an entertaining writer with a gift for explaining complex theological truths in simple stories. I was hopeful that his answers to people’s questions would tap into this special talent.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, this book fails to deliver.
Max’s special skills appear to have been put on the back burner and he gives simplistic, often trite one page replies to serious questions.
Are his answers Biblical? Most often I have no problem with the theology behind them. But they never make any attempt to explore the deeper issues that are needed to truly journey in one’s discipleship with Jesus.
Is this a useful book. For brand new Christians it would make for a handy starter but they would need to ensure they quickly move on to some meat. This provides some milk, that’s all.
